Why We Designed This Journey
Kenya is often introduced through her wildlife. We believe she is best understood through her people. This journey was designed to let both stories unfold. It begins where the Indian Ocean has welcomed travelers for centuries. It continues into the legendary Maasai Mara, where some of Africa's greatest wildlife spectacles take place. And it concludes in the quiet hills of Machakos, where our family opens its doors to share a side of Kenya few visitors ever experience.
Together, these chapters reveal a Kenya that is both breathtaking and deeply human.

There is something special about arriving in Kenya.
Perhaps it is the warmth in the greeting. Perhaps it is the scent of rain on red earth. Or perhaps it is simply the quiet realization that, for the next several days, someone else has thoughtfully prepared every detail so that you are free to simply arrive.
We'll meet you at the airport, take care of the practicalities, and settle you into one of Nairobi's finest boutique hotels.

Chapter One Continues
Days 2–4: Watamu Beach - Learning the Rhythm of the Ocean
Before Kenya reveals her wild places, she invites you to slow down.
Mornings begin without urgency. Coffee tastes different when accompanied by the sound of the Indian Ocean.
Perhaps today you'll snorkel above vibrant coral gardens.
Perhaps you'll wander the ancient ruins of Gede.
Perhaps you'll simply sit beneath a palm tree with a good book and allow yourself to do absolutely nothing.
There is no wrong way to begin.
Tomorrow, Kenya begins to tell a different story.
Chapter Two Day 5: Crossing into the Savannah - Journey to the Maasai Mara
Where Wonder Still Roams Free
Every landscape has its own rhythm. Today, Kenya changes hers.
Leaving the Indian Ocean behind, you'll fly inland across the Great Rift Valley—a landscape so vast it seems to stretch beyond the horizon. From above, rivers weave through ancient escarpments, scattered acacia trees cast long shadows across the plains, and the immensity of Kenya slowly begins to reveal itself.
As your aircraft descends, the world becomes quieter. The roads disappear. The horizon opens.
And the Maasai Mara welcomes you.
There is something difficult to explain about arriving here for the first time. Photographs never quite prepare you for the scale.
Nor for the silence. Nor for the feeling that, somehow, the land has been patiently waiting long before any of us arrived.
Your guide will meet you at the airstrip, and before you even reach camp, your safari quietly begins. The drive itself is never simply a transfer. It is your first conversation with the Mara.
Perhaps a herd of elephants appears on the horizon. Perhaps giraffes move gracefully between the acacia trees. Perhaps you'll pause beside a pride of lions resting in the afternoon shade.
Or perhaps your guide will stop simply to listen—to the birds, to the wind moving through the grass, or to the stories written in fresh tracks across the earth.
There is no rush. The Mara has never rewarded haste.
By the time you arrive at camp, you'll already feel that something has shifted. After a warm welcome and a leisurely lunch, the afternoon is yours.

Days 6–8: Maasai Mara – Wildlife, Wonder & Discovery
A Classic Safari Experience with a Personal Touch
Each morning begins with quiet anticipation as you venture onto the plains alongside your guide, following fresh tracks, listening to birds announcing the dawn, and allowing the landscape to reveal its stories in its own time.
You may find a pride of lions resting beneath an acacia tree. A family of elephants moving silently across the grasslands. A cheetah scanning the horizon.
Or perhaps something far smaller—a lilac-breasted roller catching the morning light, a dung beetle patiently crossing the road, or the extraordinary stillness that settles over the Mara just before sunrise.
Safari has never simply been about finding animals. It is about learning to notice. The longer you spend here, the more the landscape begins to slow you down.
You start listening differently. Looking differently. Feeling differently.
In the afternoons, return to camp for a leisurely lunch and time to simply be. Read from your veranda. Watch wildlife wander past the river below. Share stories over afternoon tea. Or, close your eyes and let the sounds of the bush become the soundtrack to your day.
As the sun begins its slow descent, venture out once more.

CHAPTER THREE
Day 9: Maasai Mara to Mua Hills - Karibu Nyumbani
Before you leave Kenya, we'd like to introduce you to another side of the country. One that doesn't appear on many maps.
The road winds gently toward the rolling hills of Machakos, where our family has long called home. Here, safari gives way to something quieter.
You'll be welcomed not as a customer, but as a guest. Lunch is prepared with ingredients grown nearby. Neighbours may stop in.
Stories are shared. Music drifts through the afternoon. Perhaps you'll try your hand at wood carving beside an artisan.
Perhaps you'll simply sit beneath a tree with a cup of tea while conversations unfold around you. There is no performance here. Only people generously sharing a small part of their lives.
Before you leave, you'll plant a young tree.
It will continue growing long after your journey has ended, quietly waiting should your path ever bring you back to Kenya
Day 10: Nairobi - Until We Meet Again
A Fond Farewell
Every journey eventually comes to an end. But our hope is that this one never truly feels finished. Perhaps months from now you'll receive a letter reminding you of a conversation around a fire. Perhaps years from now you'll wonder how tall your tree has grown. Perhaps one day you'll return.
